DEFT stopped direct credit and debit card payments on 1 October 2026. If you’re making an eligible business payment, B2Bpay lets you keep using your Visa or Mastercard.

Sign up to B2Bpay for free
Create your account and add your preferred credit or debit card to your B2Bpay Wallet. B2Bpay accepts Visa and Mastercard.

Add your DEFT payment
Use the BPAY details on your DEFT notice to set up your payee: the DEFT BPAY Biller Code, your DEFT Customer Reference Number (CRN) and the amount.

Pay using your credit card
Instead of paying by BPAY from your bank account, choose your credit card as the payment method in B2Bpay.

B2Bpay pays your DEFT bill
B2Bpay processes your card payment and sends it to the biller via BPAY. To DEFT and your biller, the payment arrives via BPAY.
