Is the fee on top of a card processing fee?

No. A common misconception is that B2Bpay's fee is added to a card processing fee. It is the only fee you pay B2Bpay. It is a platform fee charged by B2Bpay for the service, charged whichever way you pay, including bank account and PayTo.

The fee appears on your tax statement, which you download from the portal, and is generally a business expense. Confirm deductibility with your accountant. Interest on an unpaid card balance is a separate matter between you and your card issuer. See platform fees, GST and tax deductions.

When you receive payments through B2Bpay's biller product, a different fee schedule applies and you can choose to absorb the fee or show it to the customer. See accept card payments.

What is included in the fee?

Instead of paying card costs to a third party for nothing in return, the fee funds a set of benefits for your business.

  • Pay anyone by card. Suppliers, the ATO, landlords and utilities that do not accept cards receive EFT or BPAY. Nothing changes for them.
  • Full card points plus B2B Points. Payees that earn reduced points when paid directly earn in full through B2Bpay, and Earn plans add B2B Points.
  • Cash flow. Up to 55 days interest-free depending on your card and statement cycle.
  • Integrations. Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks bills and bank feeds, with payments and fees recorded automatically.
  • Australian-based service. One-on-one onboarding and support on 1300 205 575, with your data kept onshore.
  • Security. PCI DSS compliance, card tokenisation, verified payee bank accounts.
  • Admin tools. Multiple user logins, scheduled and bulk payments, payment history and downloadable tax statements.

Frequently asked questions

Are B2Bpay fees GST inclusive?

The published fees are ex GST. GST is added and itemised on your tax statement so you can claim the input tax credit if your business is registered for GST. The fee shown before you confirm a payment makes the GST treatment clear.

Is there a minimum or monthly fee?

No monthly or minimum fee is stated. You pay the platform fee only when you make a payment. If you make no payments in a month, you pay nothing. High-volume businesses can ask the team about enterprise pricing, and Amex rates fall automatically as annual volume grows.

Why is Amex more expensive than Visa or Mastercard?

American Express has higher scheme costs, so its platform fee is higher: 2.10% to 3.85% versus 1.10% to 2.50%. Many Amex cards earn points at a higher rate, which can offset the difference. Amex fees are also tiered by annual volume.

Is the B2Bpay fee tax deductible?

The platform fee is a cost of running your business and is generally deductible. It is itemised on your downloadable tax statement. Deductibility depends on your circumstances, so confirm with your accountant. GST on the fee is itemised too, so GST-registered businesses can claim the input tax credit.

Do the RBA card fee changes affect B2Bpay's fee?

From 1 October 2026 the RBA banned merchants from adding card-triggered fees to customer payments (see rba.gov.au). B2Bpay's fee is a platform fee for the service, charged whichever way you pay, including bank account and PayTo, rather than a charge triggered by using a card. This is general information, not legal advice.

Can I get a lower rate for high volumes?

Amex pricing is tiered automatically by annual volume. For other high-volume or enterprise arrangements, the team confirms pricing for your business. Call 1300 205 575 or use the get started form. Tell the team your monthly volumes and payment mix so they can quote accurately.
