Frequently asked questions
Everything customers ask about B2Bpay in one place: what it is, how paying suppliers and the ATO by card works, what it costs, how B2B Points and reward partners work, accounting integrations, getting paid, and security. Still stuck? Call 1300 205 575.
About B2Bpay
Short answer: B2Bpay is a secure online payment platform that lets Australian businesses pay suppliers, the ATO and bills by card, bank account or PayTo, even where the payee does not accept cards, and receive card payments on their invoices, while earning full card points plus B2B Points.
It is owned and operated by Zenith Payments Pty Ltd in Mascot, NSW, used by more than 40,000 Australian businesses, PCI DSS compliant, and supported by an Australian-based team. The questions below cover who we are and why businesses use the platform. For a step-by-step overview see how B2Bpay works.
Paying your expenses
Most questions are about payables: who you can pay, how, and how long it takes. The short version is that you can pay almost any Australian business bill by Visa, Mastercard, Amex, bank account or PayTo, and B2Bpay pays the payee by EFT or BPAY within 3 business days. Detail is on making payments and paying suppliers with a credit card.
Fees and tax
B2Bpay charges a platform fee per payment and no monthly fee is stated. The fee depends on payment method and plan and is shown before you confirm. The full table is on pricing and what's included; the questions below cover GST, deductibility and the RBA changes.
Points and rewards
You earn two kinds of points: your card's own points, which B2Bpay does not reduce, and B2B Points on the Earn Plus and Earn Max plans. B2B Points convert to Qantas Points, Velocity Points, Avios or Luxury Escapes Société Points. See B2B Points and how points work.
ATO payments and the 2027 change
The ATO has said that after 30 June 2027 you will no longer be able to use a credit card to pay it directly. B2Bpay pays the ATO by bank transfer on your behalf using your payment reference number, so card payments continue. See keep paying the ATO by card.
Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks
Connect your accounting software to load approved bills into B2Bpay and have every payment and fee recorded back automatically. The questions below cover the connection, the clearing account and reconciliation. Deeper detail is in the Xero integration FAQs and paying bills from Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks.
Getting paid
B2Bpay's biller product adds a payment link to your invoices so customers can pay by card or bank account, with funds arriving by EFT within 3 business days. See accept card payments.
Security, accounts and support
B2Bpay is PCI DSS compliant, tokenises cards, verifies payee bank accounts and keeps data onshore. Multiple user logins are supported and tax statements are downloadable from the portal. The Australian-based team is on 1300 205 575, or use the get started form. See is B2Bpay safe.
Frequently asked questions
What is B2Bpay?
B2Bpay is a secure online payment platform that lets businesses make payments to suppliers, the ATO and other billers by credit card, debit card, bank account or PayTo, and receive card payments on their invoices, while earning full credit card reward points plus B2B Points. See how B2Bpay works.
Who is behind B2Bpay?
B2Bpay is owned and operated by Zenith Payments Pty Ltd, an Australian payments business based in Mascot, NSW. AFSL 528678 is held by ZenPay Pty Ltd. More than 40,000 Australian businesses use B2Bpay, supported by an Australian-based team. Data is kept onshore.
Why should I use B2Bpay?
You are rewarded for what every business has to do: paying bills and getting paid. B2Bpay also saves time, helps you track payments, boosts cash flow with up to 55 days interest-free on your card, and cuts data entry with automatic recording to Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks. See why choose B2Bpay.
Is B2Bpay safe?
Yes. B2Bpay is PCI DSS compliant, data is encrypted and kept onshore in Australia, and card details are tokenised so numbers are never stored in full. Payee bank accounts are verified before payments are made. See is B2Bpay safe.
How many businesses use B2Bpay?
More than 40,000 Australian businesses, from sole traders to multi-site operators across trades, professional services, agencies, property, transport, healthcare and more. Read customer stories from The Shower Man Melbourne, WebEagles and Billy and Paula. Industry pages show how it fits specific sectors.
How do I find out more?
Browse the guides, call 1300 205 575, or use the get started form and the Australian-based team will walk you through the platform one on one. You can also sign up and explore it yourself. There is no joining fee.
Do I need to register to use B2Bpay?
Yes. Registration is quick and there is no joining fee. Once set up you can add billers, make one-off or multiple payments, schedule payments for a future date, track past payments, monitor your points and download reports and tax statements.
What billers can I pay using B2Bpay?
Almost all of them. Many billers are already set up to pay, and if yours is not, add a new biller with their bank or BPAY details. B2Bpay forwards your payment by EFT or BPAY, the same way as if you paid them directly. Some restrictions apply under card scheme rules.
What payments are not allowed?
Standard card scheme rules apply: you cannot use a credit card to repay finance or credit, to pay yourself or a related business entity, or for unlawful activities. The team confirms eligibility for anything unusual. See payroll, super and what you cannot pay.
What payment methods are accepted?
Visa, Mastercard and American Express credit and debit cards, Australian bank accounts and PayTo. You can store several payment methods in your wallet and nominate different ones for different billers, for example Amex for supplier invoices and a bank account for paying off the card.
What if my biller doesn't accept credit card?
That is one of the main reasons to use B2Bpay. You pay by card and B2Bpay passes the payment to your biller by BPAY or EFT, the same as if you paid them yourself. The biller does not need to accept cards or know B2Bpay is involved. See paying suppliers who don't accept cards.
How do I know my biller has received my payment?
B2Bpay passes your payment to your biller within 3 business days by EFT or BPAY with the reference you entered. Your payment history shows a settlement date for each payment, which is when the funds reach your biller, so you can tell a supplier exactly when to expect it.
Can I schedule or automate payments?
Yes. Make one-off, bulk, future-dated or recurring payments. Recurring payments suit fixed amounts such as rent; future-dated payments suit BAS and invoices with a due date, so you set them up once and are never late. Email reminders are also available if you prefer to approve each payment.
How do I change a biller's payment method to bank account?
Open the biller in your billers list, choose manage account, and select the bank account you want to use from your wallet. Make sure it matches the account linked in your accounting software so payments are recorded correctly. Future payments to that biller then come from the bank account.
Can I pay rent, strata and property costs?
Yes. Add your landlord, agent or strata manager using their BPAY code or bank details and pay by card. Recurring payments keep rent on time every month. See pay rent with a credit card. Council rates and property insurance work the same way.
Can I pay BPAY bills by credit card?
Yes. Paying BPAY from a credit card through your bank is often treated as a cash advance; through B2Bpay it is a standard purchase, so you earn full points. Add the biller with the BPAY code and your reference. See how to pay BPAY by card.
What payment reports are available?
Your payment history shows every payment with processing and settlement dates, filterable by month or financial year. You can download your tax statement from the portal and export payment history if you need to record payments manually. Filters by processing or settlement date help with month-end checks.
What does B2Bpay cost?
A platform fee per payment, ex GST, and no monthly fee stated. Visa/Mastercard 1.10% Essential, 2.10% Earn Plus, 2.50% Earn Max; Amex 2.10%, 3.40%, 3.85%; bank account 0.50%, 1.00%, 1.87%; PayTo 0.60%, 1.10%, 1.97%. The fee is displayed before you confirm. See pricing.
Does B2Bpay have monthly or account-keeping fees?
No monthly or account-keeping fee is stated. You pay the platform fee on each payment you make, shown before you confirm, so a month with no payments costs nothing. The team confirms enterprise pricing for high-volume businesses. There is no joining fee either.
Is the fee on top of a card processing fee?
No. The platform fee is the only fee you pay B2Bpay; there is no separate card processing fee underneath it. It is a platform fee for the service, charged whichever way you pay, including bank account and PayTo, and it is itemised on your tax statement.
Is the B2Bpay fee tax deductible?
The platform fee is a cost of running your business and is generally deductible. It is itemised with GST on the tax statement you download from the portal. Confirm the treatment with your accountant. See platform fees, GST and tax deductions.
Why is Amex priced differently?
American Express has higher scheme costs, so its platform fee is higher than Visa and Mastercard. Amex pricing is tiered by annual volume, falling to 1.90% on Essential above $1,000,000 a year. See pay with Amex. Many Amex cards earn points at a higher rate, which can offset the difference.
Do the RBA card fee changes affect B2Bpay?
From 1 October 2026 the RBA banned merchants from adding card-triggered fees to customer payments (see rba.gov.au). B2Bpay's fee is a platform fee for the service, charged whichever way you pay, including bank account and PayTo, rather than a charge triggered by using a card. This is general information, not legal advice.
Where do I get a tax statement?
Download it from the portal. It itemises every platform fee with GST for your BAS and year-end accounts. If you have connected Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks, fees are also recorded to your nominated expense account automatically. Keep it with your other records for your accountant.
How do I earn credit card reward points?
Use a card with a rewards program and you earn its points on every payment through B2Bpay, as per your card's terms, just like everyday purchases. Because you are paying B2Bpay, payees such as the ATO, government, telco, insurance and utilities earn at the full rate rather than the reduced rate many issuers apply to direct payments.
What are B2B Points?
B2Bpay's own reward points, earned on eligible payments on the Earn Plus (1 per $2) and Earn Max (1 per $1) plans. They credit 5 days after payment and convert to Qantas Points, Velocity Points, Avios or Luxury Escapes Société Points. See B2B Points.
What are the Essential, Earn Plus and Earn Max plans?
Essential keeps your full card points with no B2B Points at the lowest fee. Earn Plus adds 1 B2B Point per $2 paid. Earn Max adds 1 B2B Point per $1 paid. You can change plan at any time. See how points work.
Which reward partners can I convert to?
Qantas Business Rewards (1 B2B Point = 1 Qantas Point), Virgin Australia Business Flyer (1 B2B Point = 1 Velocity Point), Qatar Airways Privilege Club (2 B2B Points = 1 Avios) and Luxury Escapes Société (1 B2B Point = 2.5 Société Points). More partners are being added.
How do I earn Qantas Points?
Convert B2B Points to a linked Qantas Business Rewards account at 1:1, or sign up to the Qantas pathway at earn.b2bpay.com.au, where Qantas Points credit by the 14th of the following month. Either way you need a Qantas Business Rewards membership. See B2B Points to Qantas Points.
Do I need to be a Qantas Business Rewards member?
Yes, to receive Qantas Points. Membership needs an active ABN and the join fee is waived through B2Bpay's link. Save the same ABN in your B2Bpay profile so points can be matched to your account. Learn more at Qantas Business Rewards.
How do I earn Velocity Points?
Link your Virgin Australia Business Flyer account in B2Bpay and convert B2B Points at 1:1. Velocity Points are allocated within 30 days. Membership is free for businesses with an ABN or ACN. See earn Velocity Points. Convert as often as you like once you meet the partner minimum.
When do points arrive?
B2B Points credit to your account 5 days after the payment is processed. Qantas Points via the Qantas pathway credit by the 14th of the following month. Converted points follow each partner's timing. Your card's own points follow your card issuer's cycle.
How do I redeem my points?
Card points are redeemed through your card issuer's program. B2B Points are converted in B2Bpay to your linked partner, then redeemed with that partner for flights, upgrades, hotels, car hire and more under its terms. Check each partner's terms for minimum balances and redemption options.
Do I earn points on bank account or PayTo payments?
Yes, B2B Points on the Earn plans: 1 per $2 on Earn Plus, 1 per $1 on Earn Max. There is no card involved so no card points, but the fee is lower. Paying your credit card bill through B2Bpay by bank account is a common way to earn twice.
How many points could my business earn?
On Earn Max every $1 earns 1 B2B Point, so $200,000 of annual spend earns 200,000 B2B Points (200,000 Qantas or Velocity Points) plus your card's points. Try the points calculator or read points maths. Add your card's own earn rate for the full picture.
Can I pay the ATO through B2Bpay?
Yes. Add the ATO as a payee with your payment reference number (PRN) and pay by card, bank account or PayTo. B2Bpay pays the ATO by bank transfer using your PRN. BAS, GST, PAYG, income tax and FBT are all eligible business payments. See pay the ATO by credit card.
Does the ATO stop accepting credit cards in 2027?
Yes. The ATO states that after 30 June 2027 you will no longer be able to use a credit card to make payments to the ATO directly (see ato.gov.au). Paying through B2Bpay is not affected because the ATO receives a bank transfer. See keep paying the ATO by card.
Do I earn full card points on ATO payments?
Yes. Paid directly, ATO payments often earn reduced or zero points. Paid through B2Bpay the charge on your card is ordinary business spend, so points accrue at your card's standard rate under its terms, plus B2B Points on the Earn plans. See full points for paying the ATO.
Does the ATO charge a card fee?
The ATO currently charges no card fee. B2Bpay's platform fee applies to payments through B2Bpay and is shown before you confirm. It is a platform fee for the service, charged whichever way you pay, and is generally a business expense; confirm with your accountant.
How long before the due date should I pay the ATO?
Allow up to 3 business days for settlement, so schedule ATO payments at least a few business days before the due date, and earlier around public holidays. Future-dated payments let you set it up when you lodge your BAS and forget about it.
Why should I connect my accounting software?
Once connected, all your approved bills appear in B2Bpay via a direct feed from Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks, ready to pay. Every payment and fee is recorded back automatically, saving data entry and reconciliation time. It also means your fees are recorded to the right expense account without manual entry.
How do I connect Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks?
Log in to B2Bpay, choose your software and follow the prompts to authorise access. Select a Payment Account (the card or bank account you pay with) and an Expense Account for fees. Add a card to your wallet and you are ready to pay bills. See the Xero integration FAQs.
What is the B2Bpay Clearing Account?
A virtual account created in your accounting software when you connect. For each payment it holds three entries: the total charged to your card, the bill amount (to mark the bill paid) and the fee (recorded as an expense). You do not need to reconcile inside the clearing account.
What do I need to reconcile after paying through B2Bpay?
Very little. The integration records and reconciles the bill payment and the fee. You reconcile the total transaction in your Payment Account when the card statement line arrives, by matching it or marking it as reconciled. Bulk reconciliation is available if you prefer to do it periodically.
Can I pay bills from Xero with different cards?
Yes. Link each card in your wallet to a different Payment Account in your software so payments are recorded against the right card. You can change links at any time from your wallet, and choose which card to use when you select bills to pay.
Do I need to register to get paid by a B2Bpay customer?
No. You simply receive an EFT or BPAY payment. Registering as a biller gives you your own payment link, a secure login to track payments, downloadable reports and the ability to earn Qantas Points when customers pay by card. There is no setup fee stated.
How do I accept card payments on my invoices?
Sign up as a biller and add the B2Bpay payment link to your invoices from Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks or any template. Customers pay on a secure branded page and funds arrive by EFT within 3 business days. See accept card payments.
What is a B2Bpay Bonus Biller?
A biller that offers customers extra Qantas Points for paying through B2Bpay, as a ready-made loyalty program. There are three levels: Silver (1 Qantas Point per $1.50), Gold (2 per $1.50) and Black (3 per $1.50). Call 1300 205 575 to ask about becoming one.
How do I earn Qantas Points when I get paid?
Earn Qantas Points when customers pay you by Visa or Mastercard through your B2Bpay payment link, under the Qantas pathway and Qantas Business Rewards terms. Connect your accounting software to add the link to invoices automatically. You need a Qantas Business Rewards membership with your ABN saved in your biller profile.
How do I know which customers have paid?
BPAY payments arrive with the customer's reference number; EFT payments arrive individually with the customer's reference. With Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks connected, each payment is recorded against the invoice automatically. Your biller login lists every payment. The Australian-based team can help set up the best reconciliation option for you.
What if I don't want to accept cards directly?
You never handle cards. B2Bpay accepts the card payment on its secure page and passes the funds to you by BPAY or EFT with a reference, so your customers get another way to pay without you changing invoicing or banking processes or seeing card numbers.
Can more than one person use our account?
Yes. B2Bpay supports multiple user logins, so your bookkeeper, accountant or finance team can work in the same account with their own credentials rather than sharing a password. This suits practices that run B2Bpay for clients as well as businesses with a finance team.
Does B2Bpay store my card number?
No. Cards are tokenised, so full card numbers are never stored or displayed in full; a token is used for each payment instead. B2Bpay is PCI DSS compliant and data is kept onshore in Australia with an Australian-based team. Payee bank accounts are verified too.
How does B2Bpay protect against paying the wrong account?
Payee bank account details are verified before payments are made, and your payment history shows exactly where each payment went and when it settled. If you change a supplier's details, verification applies again, which helps guard against invoice fraud and typing errors.
Can I use my existing B2Bpay login for B2B Points?
Yes. Existing customers use their current login details. Choose a plan, link a reward partner and start earning B2B Points without creating a new profile or re-entering payees and cards. Your payment history and integrations carry across unchanged. Nothing needs to be set up twice.
How do I contact support?
Call 1300 205 575 to reach the Australian-based team, or use the get started form. The team helps with setup, payee details, ATO payment references, accounting integrations and reconciliation, and offers one-on-one onboarding for new customers. There is no extra charge for support.
