Pay business expenses with Visa and earn points
Use your Visa credit card to pay suppliers, the ATO, rent and utilities through B2Bpay, even when the payee only accepts bank transfer. You keep your full Visa reward points and can earn B2B Points that convert to Qantas or Velocity Points.
Can you pay any business bill with a Visa card?
Short answer: Yes. Through B2Bpay you can pay almost any Australian business bill with your Visa card. B2Bpay charges your card and pays the payee by bank transfer or BPAY, so it works even where cards are not accepted.
Visa is accepted by more merchants than any other card, but a lot of business spend still sits outside the card network: trade suppliers who invoice by EFT, landlords, strata, council rates, insurers, and the ATO. Paying those by bank transfer earns nothing.
B2Bpay brings them back onto your card. You add the payee once, pay with Visa, and they receive a normal bank payment with your reference, usually within 3 business days. Mastercard works exactly the same way, at the same fees.
See paying suppliers with a credit card for how the mechanics work end to end.
Do you earn full Visa reward points?
Yes. Payments through B2Bpay earn points at your Visa card's standard rate, under your issuer's rewards terms. B2Bpay does not reduce them.
When you pay the ATO, government bodies, utilities or insurers directly, many issuers categorise the spend as low or zero points. Through B2Bpay the payment is ordinary business spend on your card, so you earn the full rate.
Then B2Bpay adds B2B Points on the Earn plans:
- Essential - keep your full card points, no B2B Points. Lowest platform fee.
- Earn Plus - full card points plus 1 B2B Point per $2 paid.
- Earn Max - full card points plus 1 B2B Point per $1 paid.
1 B2B Point = 1 Qantas Point = 1 Velocity Point. 2 B2B Points = 1 Avios. 1 B2B Point = 2.5 Luxury Escapes Société Points. Estimate your earn with the points calculator.
What does it cost to pay with Visa?
Visa and Mastercard platform fees are 1.10% on Essential, 2.10% on Earn Plus and 2.50% on Earn Max, ex GST.

Platform fees ex GST, as published at b2bpay.com.au. The exact fee is shown before you confirm each payment.
The fee is a platform fee charged by B2Bpay for the service, shown on your tax statement and generally a business expense (confirm with your accountant). There is no monthly fee stated. Full detail is on pricing and what's included.
How does paying with Visa improve cash flow?
Your supplier is paid within days while the amount sits on your Visa until the statement due date. Depending on your card and statement cycle that is up to 55 days interest-free.
To keep the days interest-free, pay the statement balance in full by the due date. You can pay your Visa bill through B2Bpay by bank account or PayTo and earn B2B Points on that payment as well, so both legs of the cycle earn.
Read 55 days interest-free cash flow for how to line up payment dates with your statement.

Frequently asked questions
Can I pay the ATO with Visa through B2Bpay?
Yes. B2Bpay pays the ATO on your behalf by bank transfer using your payment reference number, so BAS, PAYG and income tax can go on your Visa with full points. This continues after 30 June 2027, when the ATO stops taking credit cards directly. See pay BAS with a credit card.
Do Visa debit cards work?
Yes, Visa and Mastercard debit cards can be added to your wallet and used at the Visa/Mastercard fee rate. Debit cards do not give you an interest-free period, so most customers use a bank account or PayTo (lower fee) when they are not using credit.
Is Mastercard the same price as Visa?
Yes. Visa and Mastercard share the same platform fee on every plan: 1.10% Essential, 2.10% Earn Plus and 2.50% Earn Max, ex GST. Everything on this page applies equally to Mastercard. American Express is priced separately and tiered by volume. See pay with Amex.
Which Visa card should I use for business bills?
That depends on your points goal, annual fee and credit limit. A card that earns airline points on everyday spend pairs well with B2B Points because both convert to the same programs. Our guide to choosing a card for business bills walks through the trade-offs.
Is B2Bpay secure?
Yes. B2Bpay is PCI DSS compliant, card numbers are tokenised and never stored in full, payee bank accounts are verified before payment, and your data stays onshore with an Australian-based team. See is B2Bpay safe. Full card numbers are never displayed or stored.
