B2Bpay for transport and logistics businesses

B2Bpay lets transport operators pay fuel accounts, registration, fleet insurance, tyres, repairs, tolls, owner-drivers and the ATO by credit card, with the payee receiving a bank transfer, so running costs earn points and sit on your card for up to 55 days.

What transport and logistics bills can be paid through B2Bpay?

Short answer: Fuel accounts, registration, insurance, tyres and repairs, tolls, subcontracted carriers, equipment finance and the ATO. You pay by Visa, Mastercard or American Express; the payee receives a bank transfer or BPAY payment.

Fleet bills that typically only take bank transfer or BPAY:

  • Bulk fuel and fuel card accounts invoiced monthly, usually the main cost.
  • Heavy vehicle registration and permits, CTP and fleet insurance premiums.
  • Tyres, servicing, repairs, parts and roadside assistance.
  • Toll accounts, weighbridge and port charges.
  • Owner-drivers and subcontracted carriers invoicing per load.
  • Warehouse rent, forklift and trailer leases, and the ATO (BAS, PAYG, fuel tax credit adjustments and income tax).

Loading a fuel invoice into B2Bpay and paying by card changes nothing for the supplier; they receive a bank transfer with your reference. See paying suppliers who do not accept cards.

Why does cash flow timing matter in transport?

Freight is paid on 30 to 60 day terms while fuel, drivers and repairs are paid weekly or monthly. B2Bpay lets you pay the fuel account and the tyre shop on their terms by card while the cash stays in your account for up to 55 days interest-free, depending on the card and statement cycle.

For an operator with $100,000 a month going out on fuel alone, moving that onto a card cycle is a real working capital buffer that does not involve the bank. Registration and insurance renewals, which hit in large annual lumps, can be smoothed the same way. See the 55 days interest-free guide. Operators can also collect customer freight payments by card through the biller product.

What do the points look like on fleet spend?

Your card issuer pays its normal reward points on every B2Bpay payment, and B2Bpay adds B2B Points: 1 per $1 on Earn Max, 1 per $2 on Earn Plus. 1 B2B Point equals 1 Qantas Point or 1 Velocity Point.

An operator paying $150,000 a month in fuel, repairs, insurance and subcontractor invoices through B2Bpay on Earn Max earns 150,000 B2B Points a month before card points. Try the points calculator and read points maths: what a payment earns.

Who uses it, and what does it cost?

Usually the owner, fleet manager or the accounts person. Multiple user logins are supported and bills sync from Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks with automatic reconciliation. Payments can be bulk and scheduled, so a week of subcontractor invoices goes out in one batch.

A $40,000 monthly fuel account paid by Visa on Earn Max carries a $1,000 fee and earns 40,000 B2B Points plus card points, while the $40,000 stays in your account until your statement is due. See platform fees, GST and tax deductions.

Frequently asked questions

Can I pay a fuel account by credit card through B2Bpay?

Yes. Load the monthly fuel invoice, pay by Visa, Mastercard or American Express, and the fuel company receives a bank transfer with your account reference. You earn card points and B2B Points, and the amount stays in your account until your card statement is due.

Can I pay registration and insurance by card?

Yes. Registration renewals and insurance premiums with a BPAY reference or bank details can be paid through B2Bpay. See pay council rates, insurance and utilities by card and how to pay BPAY with a credit card.

Can I pay owner-drivers and subcontractors?

Yes. Subcontracted carriers invoicing your business are suppliers and can be paid through B2Bpay by card, receiving a bank transfer. Employee wages and superannuation are not paid through the platform; see payroll, super and what you cannot pay.

Can I keep paying the ATO by card after 30 June 2027?

Yes. The ATO has stated it will no longer accept credit cards directly after that date. B2Bpay pays the ATO by bank transfer using your payment reference number, so BAS, PAYG and income tax can still be paid by card. See keep paying the ATO by credit card.

How quickly is the supplier paid?

B2Bpay pays the supplier by bank transfer after your card payment is processed. The team confirms settlement timing for your account when you register, so you can schedule payments to land on supplier due dates.
