B2Bpay for travel businesses
B2Bpay lets travel agencies and tour operators pay wholesalers, land operators, consortium fees, booking software, rent and the ATO by credit card even when the supplier only accepts bank transfer, so the business that sells travel earns travel on its own bills.
What travel business bills can be paid through B2Bpay?
Short answer: Supplier invoices that only take bank transfer, plus the agency's overheads. Wholesalers, land and ground operators, consortium and licence fees, booking and mid-office software, marketing, rent and the ATO can be paid by Visa, Mastercard or American Express, with the payee receiving a bank transfer or BPAY payment.
Airlines and many hotels take cards. The gap is the rest of the supply chain and the agency's own overheads:
- Wholesalers, inbound and land operators, coach and transfer companies, and cruise or tour deposits invoiced for bank transfer.
- Consortium, franchise and licence fees, and industry accreditation.
- Booking, mid-office and CRM software invoiced monthly or annually.
- Marketing, brochure printing, events and website costs.
- Office rent, insurance and the ATO (BAS, PAYG withholding and instalments).
With B2Bpay the supplier receives a bank transfer and does not need to accept cards. See paying suppliers who do not accept cards.
How does it help travel agency cash flow?
Agencies pay supplier deposits and balances before, and sometimes long before, the client's final payment or commission arrives. B2Bpay lets you pay the land operator or wholesaler on their due date by card while the cash stays in your account for up to 55 days interest-free, depending on the card and statement cycle.
In a seasonal business, pushing supplier payments and the quarterly BAS onto a card cycle is a meaningful buffer in the quiet months. The cash flow guide explains how to time payments. Agencies can also take client payments by card on their invoices through the biller product, which integrates with Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks.
What do the points look like for a travel business?
Your card issuer pays its normal reward points on every B2Bpay payment, and B2Bpay adds B2B Points: 1 per $1 on Earn Max, 1 per $2 on Earn Plus. 1 B2B Point equals 1 Qantas Point or 1 Velocity Point; 2 B2B Points equal 1 Avios, and 1 B2B Point converts to 2.5 Luxury Escapes Société Points.
An agency paying $70,000 a month in supplier, software, rent and ATO payments through B2Bpay on Earn Max earns 70,000 B2B Points a month before card points. See Velocity, Avios and Luxury Escapes points and the calculator.
Who uses it, and what does it cost?
Usually the agency owner or manager, with the bookkeeper loading invoices. Multiple user logins are supported and bills sync from Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks with automatic reconciliation.
| Payment method | Essential | Earn Plus | Earn Max |

A $15,000 land operator invoice paid by Amex on Earn Max carries a $578 fee and earns 15,000 B2B Points plus Amex Membership Rewards points, while the $15,000 stays in your account until your statement is due. See pay with Amex and what is included in your B2Bpay fees.

Frequently asked questions
Can I pay an overseas land operator through B2Bpay?
B2Bpay pays Australian bank accounts and BPAY billers in Australian dollars. Many international operators invoice through an Australian entity or representative, which can be paid normally. The team confirms what applies to your supplier mix when you register.
Can I pay with American Express where the supplier does not take Amex?
Yes. The supplier receives a bank transfer, so the card you use does not matter to them. Amex fees are higher than Visa and Mastercard, so weigh the earn rate against the fee. See pay Amex where Amex is not accepted.
Do points go to Qantas, Velocity or somewhere else?
Your choice. 1 B2B Point converts to 1 Qantas Point or 1 Velocity Point, 2 B2B Points to 1 Avios with Qatar Airways Privilege Club, and 1 B2B Point to 2.5 Luxury Escapes Société Points. Qantas Business Rewards membership is required for Qantas Points; B2Bpay's link waives the join fee.
Can clients pay me by card?
Yes. B2Bpay's biller product adds a card payment option to your invoices with funds settled to your bank account and reconciled in Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks. See accept card payments.
Can I keep paying the ATO by card after 30 June 2027?
Yes. The ATO has stated it will stop accepting credit card payments directly after that date. B2Bpay pays the ATO by bank transfer using your payment reference number, so BAS and PAYG can still go on your card and earn points. See ATO credit card changes 2027.
